This chocolate peanut butter smoothie is creamy, high in protein and tastes like a milkshake! With a few veggies snuck in there, this vegan smoothie recipe is the perfect start to your day.

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen ripe bananas
  • ½ cup frozen cauliflower florets
  • ½ small zucchini, chopped
  • ¼ cup natural peanut butter
  • 2-3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 ½ cups non-dairy milk
  • 2 tbsp hemp hearts optional

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a high speed blender.
  • Blend until completely smooth and creamy, about 1 full minute. If you don't have a high speed blender, you will likely need to add extra milk, but start with less and add more as needed.
  • Taste and adjust flavors as desired. I like a little extra cocoa powder, but it depends on brand used etc.
  • Pour into glasses and enjoy! I like to top mine with my almond butter granola for a little crunch.

Notes

You can use fresh bananas if you don't have frozen, but you'll want to decrease the amount of milk to abut 1 cup.
The protein powder is optional, but really enhances the chocolate flavor! Even vanilla protein powder will work well. If you choose not to use protein powder, you'll want to add a bit more cocoa powder to taste.
