Ingredients

Burgers

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • ½ small yellow onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup gluten free breadcrumbs can sub for regular

Servings

  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 large tomato
  • 4 large romaine/green leaf lettuce leaves
  • cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 4 slices american cheese optional
  • ½ cup hummus or mayo

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 Fahrenheit.
  • Using a large grater, grate the onion until you have about 2-3 tablespoons worth.
  • Add to a bowl with all burger ingredients and mix well to combine.
  • Spray your air fryer basket and use a large cookie scoop or your hands to make 4 even sized patties.
  • They tend to puff up a bit in the air fryer, so try to make them pretty flat.
  • Place in your air fryer basket, keeping each burger apart from the others.
  • Air fry for 8-12 minutes (depending on your air fryer/how thick the patties are), flipping half way, until the center is fully cooked.
  • Serve on your gluten free buns with lettuce, tomato, onion, hummus and cheese if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to mix up the flavors and add in some other herbs of choice to the burgers! I love paprika, basil or thyme.
