Gluten Free Everything Bagel Bites

by: claire cary

These gluten free bagel bites are the perfect bite sized snack recipe! They're made with just a few simple ingredients, have 9 grams of protein per serving and are so easy to make.
Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: 10 minutes
Total: 25 minutes

Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour (making sure to spoon and level to measure) , brown sugar, yeast, baking powder and salt. Whisk to combine.
  • Add in the greek yogurt and mix with a rubber spatula, then use your hands to fully combine. It helps to lightly grease your hands as it get sticky!
  • Preheat your air fryer to 350 Fahrenheit.
  • Roll the dough into 8 even sized balls.
  • Brush a bit of melted butter on top, then roll in the everything bagel seasoning. You can also use poppy seeds, sesame seeds or leave them plain with a bit of butter and salt.
  • Add to your preheated air fryer and air fry for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove and let cool for about 15-20 minutes. Cooling is important here as it helps the texture set.
  • Enjoy as is or serve with cream cheese, butter, jam etc!

Notes

I used the Bob's Red Mill gluten free bread mix/flour here, but I have also tested these with just regular gluten free all purpose baking flour and both work well!
Almond flour, oat flour or coconut flour will NOT work here! You must use either a bread flour or gluten free baking flour.
There unfortunately is no good sub as greek yogurt is kind of the star of the show here! Because we are removing the gluten (which is the protein found in wheat, barely and rye), we need a different protein source to help give these bagel bites a nice texture.
