Hot Honey Salmon Bites

by: claire cary

These crispy hot honey salmon bites are the perfect quick appetizer or dinner recipe. They're made in the air fryer and perfect as is or served with your favorite rice and veggies!
Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: 15 minutes
Total: 30 minutes

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 1 pound salmon cut into chunks
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • cup gluten free breadcrumbs plain, not Italian!
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Hot Honey Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons butter melted
  • ¼ cup Mike's hot honey
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper or more to taste
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • First, cut your salmon into roughly one inch cubes.
  • I like to remove the skin, but you can keep it on if you prefer. To easily remove it, just pour boiling water on top of the skin and let it rest for about 30 seconds, then peel it off.
  • Add the salmon to a mixing bowl and toss with the oil.
  • In a small dish, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic, paprika, salt and pepper.
  • Add the breadcrumb mixture to the salmon and toss to combine.
  • Add to your lightly greased air fryer in one single layer (you may need to do two batches depending on your air fryer).
  • Air fry at 380 Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  • Meanwhile, whisk together all ingredients for the honey sauce until smooth.
  • When the salmon is done, let cool for 5 minutes, then toss in the sauce, using as much or as little as you like.
  • Serve as is or with rice and veggies. I love arugula here!
