Parmesan Crusted Air Fryer Tilapia

by: claire cary

This parmesan crusted air fryer tilapia is the perfect 20 minute weeknight dinner! It's gluten free, paleo friendly and so easy to make. Serve it with fresh rice and your favorite veggies for a simple and healthy meal.
Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 8 minutes
Total: 18 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 tilapia filets about 6 ounces each
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
  • cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 Fahrenheit.
  • Combine the parmesan, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a shallow bowl and mix well.
  • Drizzle the olive oil on the tilapia and rub on top.
  • Dredge each piece of tilapia in the parmesan mixture until well coated.
  • Spray your air fryer basket with oil, then add the tilapia, keeping each piece apart.
  • Air fry for 7-9 minutes or until completely cooked through in the thickest part. It will depend on how thick each piece was. Remove the tilapia with a spatula for best results since it's a delicate fish.
  • Serve with fresh lemon over rice, your favorite veggies and my pesto vinaigrette!

Notes

You can cook fish from frozen, but for this particular recipe I don't recommend it. If you cook it from frozen, the parmesan mixture won't stick as well to the fish and you will need to cook it for longer.
